First of all, you have to create a new CAT tool configuration, to define how you want to import the matches from your analysis files into LSP.expert. For that, you have to go to Settings > CAT tool configurations. Then, click on 'Add a CAT tool configuration'.
Give a name to this CAT configuration, select your CAT tool and define the units you’re using and the conversion factor you would like to apply.
If the CAT tool analysis file contains a number of 'Words' and you’re using the same unit in LSP.expert, the conversion factor has to be '1' (meaning that 1 word in the CAT tool analysis file equals 1 word in LSP.expert). If the CAT tool analysis file mentions a number of 'Words' and you’re not using the same unit in LSP.expert (let’s say you're working with 'Lines'), you have to decide how many words in the analysis file will be equal to 1 line in LSP.expert. In this case, you can define for example that 10 words in the analysis file equal 1 line in LSP.expert.
Then you can begin with the match mapping, which means grouping the match categories in the analysis file into the match categories you defined in LSP.expert.
You can find clear instructions on the screen to guide you.
1. First, you have to select an LSP.expert match category in the dropdown menu (so a match category you defined in LSP.expert).
2. Then, you have to check the categories of the analysis file that enter into this LSP.expert match category.
Then, simply repeat these two steps for all your match categories in LSP.expert.
Please make sure you put all of the match categories from the CAT tool analysis files into match categories from LSP.expert (= make sure a box is ticked for all the match categories on the left). Otherwise, if in an analysis file for a job you have matches from an unticked categories, LSP.expert won't be able to add this match category to the match breakdown.
Once you're done, click on Add to create your CAT tool configuration.
Now, to use this CAT configuration when you create a job, click on 'Upload CAT file' in the job creation popup and search for the file on your computer.
To import a CAT tool analysis file for an existing job, you have to edit the Overview panel of the job and click on 'Upload CAT file' and search for the file on your computer.
After selecting the file on your computer, choose the CAT tool configuration you want to use (the one you just created or another one).
The system automatically shows the matches in the job, grouped according to the criteria you defined in your CAT configuration.
This is what it looks like in the job after importing a CAT analysis file:
You can also define a default CAT configuration for your clients in the details of each client. This means that this CAT configuration will be used by default when you import analysis files for this client (you won't have to choose between your different CAT tool configurations).

If the CAT tool analysis contains a number of “Words” and you’re using the same unit in LSP.expert, the conversion factor has to be “1” (that means that 1 word in the CAT tool analysis equals 1 word in LSP.expert). If the CAT tool analysis mentions a number of “Words” and you’re not using the same unit in LSP.expert (let’s say you chose to work with “Lines”), you have to decide how many words in the analysis file will be equal to a line in LSP.expert. In this case, you can define for example that 10 words in the analysis file equal 1 line in LSP.expert.
Click on Add. You will then arrive on the screen where you can edit the details of your CAT tool configuration, that is to say where you will group the match categories in the analysis file into the match categories you defined in LSP.expert.
First, you have to select an LSP.expert match category in the dropdown menu after clicking on Add a match category, and then you have to check the categories of the analysis file that enter into this LSP.expert match category.
You do the same for the other categories, and you click on Done.
Your CAT tool configuration is created.
Now, to use it in a job, you have to click on Edit matches > Matches from a CAT tool analysis once you’re in the job (next to the quantity).
You select the file on your computer and the CAT tool configuration you want to use (the one you just created or another one).
The system automatically shows the matches in the job, grouped according to the criteria you defined in your configuration.
Then click on Save.
